Axyswebs are proud sponsors of U13s Girls team at Wigtonmoor Juniors Football AFC.  Being their sponsor for 3 years now, naturally they have had a website too.  However, in Sept 2007 we gave the backend an upgrade.
 
Wigtonmoor juniors football club can now keep their site up to date on a daily basis and lots lots more.  Developed using Joomla (GNU Licensed free software) we have incorporated the 'Community Builer' plug-in which provides many more interactive functions for the managers, team players and the club.   Wigtonmoors team managers can now add their latest match reports as and when it happens. This is achieved by each manager having their own secure admin logins where they are in full control of the stories they publish.
 
The Community Builder adds the private area where only registered users can access.  Managers are able to publish an article and only show it to the club registered members or just to their team. 
 
What is Community Builder?
 
The community builder software is a plug-in for Joomla.  It provides a platform for social networking.  In the case of wigtonmoor, registered users have access to:
 
  • Private articles which normal users cannot access
  • Private forums which are used by managers and players to discuss previous matches, tactics and more
  • A private messaging where they can contact each other within the system (like facebook)
  • A private shout box allowing them to broadcast instant messages to everyone who is logged on
  • An image gallery allowing the players to upload their own pictures from their games (like facebook)
  • A private blog
  • A buddy/friends system (like facebook)
  • many more functions like submit news or submit weblinks both of which are approved by managers.

This system has proven to be a success bringing together teams of all ages within Wigtonmoor Juniors Football AFC.
